“Thank you for this additional document with alarming information about the status of N. natrix cypriaca.
As already stated, the Commission is pursuing the infringement case about Paralimni in accordance with applicable procedures.
As you also point out the implementation of a captive breeding programme is one of the actions of the LIFE project you have mentioned and we’ll seek more information about it from CY authorities, to whom we’ll also raise the issue of potential extinction of the species from Xyliatos dam and Paralimni on the basis of the article you supplied.”
